Software Engineer:
QSound Labs, Inc, a leading developer of audio and voice software solutions located in Calgary, AB, Canada has an opening for a Software Engineer.
The qualified individual will be part of QSound's engineering team, providing integration and sales support as well as analyzing the customers' technical needs and keeping abreast of competitors' solutions and general industry trends. The ideal candidate will have experience with audio and voice signal processing.
Knowledge, competencies and experience required:
- Post-secondary education in computer science, math, engineering or equivalent experience
- Practical experience programming using Windows PC based and embedded device development tools (Visual Studio, CVS, GNU, ARM ADS 1.2, RealView 2.2.)
- Experience with programming for X86, ARM and/or DSP architectures
- Practical experience with embedded mobile operating systems (Windows Mobile, Linux and Android)
- Working knowledge of assembly programming
- A minimum of 5 years experience programming with Microsoft Visual C and C++
- Linux GCC with experience creating and managing Makefiles
- Linux audio experience (GStreamer)
- Android audio experience
The successful applicant should be self motivated and have a combination of both technical and communication skills. It is important that they be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. Travel to international customer sites will be required.
