Toshiba’s New Media Recorders Incorporate QSurround Audio Expansion Technology

Toshiba recently launched two new media recorders incorporating QSurround audio expansion technology from QSound Labs, broadening the use of QSound’s audio technology across their product line that already includes several models of TVs and DVD players.

Toshiba’s new entry level media recorder, the VARDIA RD-E160, features QSurround audio technology and comes with a 60GB hard disk, a DL DVD burner, a digital and analog TV tuner, and an HDMI port. It is capable of recording TV shows in HD directly on the hard disk or DL DVD and is bundled with two remotes.

The VARDIA RD-E300 (HDD and DVD), introduced to the Japanese market, also features QSurround audio expansion technology and comes with a  substantial 300GB hard drive, DVD burner, digital TV tuner, and HDMI output. This model is also bundled with two remotes and has an additional “Animation Download” function, which creates a short “trailer” of videos located on the hard disk.
